700 favor points for $150? example:xXBadKarmaXx's mob fought with 1285 weapons, 1285 pieces of armor, and 1285 vehicles. that means at least $3300 spent just on hired guns. That's money better spent on a gaming computer to play a real game or maybe go get laid. only a total loser thinks mobsters is important enough to waste real cash on a Myspace App.

Regardless of the troublesome list or not, if gamers have nothing to strive for (most seek recognition, hence a leaderboard of sorts is formed) then the nature of the game becomes less competitive eventually being less actively play and lastly the eventual death of a game.

Very valid point. Seeing ones name on the made mens list can increase competition. Agreed, the list has become quite troublesome.

Depends really, I could be wrong, or the subject came up in the past with 120 pages.

But the mods close threads on bots often due to being troublesome. I'm still waiting for that new stick entitled "Bot subject posters READ THIS' from one of the mods :D

I love how you are so judgmental about how people spend their own hard earned money. Hopefully, you have never wasted your money on 'moronic' things, such as cable TV, fatty foods, video games, political contributions, a car note for a car that exceeds your actual needs, a mortgage/rent payment on a house that exceeds your needs, golf, Nascar, etc etc etc. (I really dont think all of these are moronic, but wanted to point out that some people would question some of the things you might spend your money on)

I believe it is time to completely remove and reset the ALL TIME MADE MEN list... seeing as how new changes and rules etc are being implemented at what seems a non stop pace... the reason they should be reset is simply that these MADE MEN achieved their status at a time when such rules and regulations were not implemented in the first place and now with these new rules such as forced leveling or only 24 bounty kills per 24 hour period etc their stats are pretty much untouchable... EVEN WHEN THE TRICKS THEY USED TO GET THERE ARE FINALLY FIGURED OUT IT DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE THEN THE GODFATHER FIXES IT AND NOBODY ELSE CAN USE THEM BUT THE MADE MEN ALREADY USED SAID TRICKS AND GET TO STAY WHERE THEY ARE... NOT FAIR. A prime example... and I'm sorry to give up this trick but seeing as how it no longer works... the NUMBER 1 ALL TIME BOUNTY HUNTER is a level "2"... AND he has positive fights won stats... how is this possible? Simple...he achieved his stats by hitlisting level 1 "dead" accounts and catching his own bounties that he set... relentlessly.. either with a macro or by hand I don't know but there it is... now with the FORCED LEVELING this is no longer possible... and with him at 30,000 plus bounties collected... his place at number is guaranteed... NOT FAIR IN THE LEAST. Also... everyone KNOWS the TOP FIGHTERS have or have had at one point or another auto heal macros running... most likely they do not have them running now or anymore... BUT AGAIN.. they're already at the top levels and untouchable... so basically.. go back to letting others use the same tricks the MADE MEN used... or ERASE the ALL TIME MADE MEN and let us ALL have a STRAIGHT shot at it...

i think its an alright idea. i have been trying to break the made mens list for wealthiest in kentucky. but theres no way someone can cheat on this b/c they cant pay to level up. i think it just needs looking into

While reading through all of your posts, I realized that the argument of bots and these online games is a lot like professional baseball and the use of steroids.

So questions come to mind....

The first: If everyone has the ability to do it and the people running things do not take the necessary steps to stop them, is it really illegal? Even if the majority of people involved believe something is wrong, is it not illegal/against the rules until the person or people in charge say it is. In the MLB, until Bud says it aint allowed, its allowed; even if the game by most experts and fans say it should not be (thankfully MLB is finally headed in the right direction!). In Mobsters, until the Godfather throws an asterisk next to the cheaters on the 'made men list' and takes steps to effectively combat macros/bots, all of our complaining, booing and protesting, is just done in vain.

The second: Where does ethics play in all of this? I would never take steroids because I have a set of ethics that tells me I should not take a drug that artificially improves my performance (and they are harmful and have a lot of bad side affects). With Mobsters, the enjoyment of the game comes from playing it, not going to work and running the game on 'auto pilot'. I like to see what I have achieved and not what a macro achieved for me.

The third: What should be done? I like the idea of clearing out the made men list, however, I like the idea of finding the cheaters and banning them even more! I was sick on Monday and Tuesday and did not go to work. I ran an experiment from home. I went through my attack list from lvl 465-502 and attacked some Mobsters that seemed to always be on the list. I ultimately attacked each of them up to 40 times in a row to find out if they were cheating! I took 400 damage from them each time. After 5-8 attacks they were in the hospital. Within, at the most, 2 minutes, they were back to full heal and I was able to attack them again!

Let me remind you that this was in the middle of the day while they were most likely at school or work. When evening came around, I was attacked and HL'd by the very same people! They were very upset and every comment on my page had something to do with me hiding in the hospital, lol! I made a list (15 names so far) and have sent a few to the Godfather. I got a reply each time looking a lot like this one:

Conclusion:

Playdom and 'The Godfather' are here to make money. They will do what they have to in order to make us believe they are fixing bugs, actively adding new features and taking care of cheating. With baseball, public perceptions and loss of revenue were the major catalysts for change, we need to do the same in this situation. I would like to see the broadcast delay worked on. I would like to see the obvious feature rip-off from other games to stop and I would like to see cheaters be banned and taken off the made list just as I would like to see a few asterisks thrown next to many of our generation's Major League Baseball power hitters. Bud is finally starting to do his job (well, MLB player union has finally lost its death grip on the game) so why can't the Godfather? If revenue from favor points started to go down, maybe, just maybe, the Godfather might have to take a second look at the cheaters on and off of the 'made men list'.

So what, this app is a business and the people who pay keep the game free for those that want it to be free (like me) and the people who play for free keep the people who pay happy because the people who pay can feel strong and powerful. Personally I would like to thank each person who chooses to either do offers or who chooses to pay money. In a game of give and take I think overall mobsters (for what it is designed to be) is quite well done and the changes are quite needed (whether good or bad) to keep the game interesting.

pretty much exactly what i've been saying since i came here lol...
tho i try not to make it so demeaning haha.
but yes, have you seen these people? they think they are BETTER than you because they put money into a simple clicking game.
But the saddest part is, on clicking game as these, people with low-a$$ self esteem will actually come up to you and tell u that u suck for not spending hundreds of dollars on a dumb clickin myspace app.
I mean, how much LESS of a life can you have? -.-
