Once again, not a day goes by, something completely new and wonderful happens with Mobsters. Either it be by the Godfather, a close friend, or someone unknown to me up until that point. It does not fail to happen though. Something will always go wrong some way or another. The Godfather just messed up the game for every single person in this game. He obviously stopped some lower grade bots, he stopped some dyslexic kids, and some illiterate pot smokers... but most of all he stopped people that play every day to have fun. No one likes captchas. We do enough of those getting adds and sending requests. Damn this game...

Yeah looking at it compared to my hospital page I'd say it's a photo-shop, and a bad one.... Look at the word Hospital, notice the writing behind it? My guess would be somebody messed up that detail while using a mask layer... zooming in it looks to say win.... or min.... I was really talkin bout that pic and all the YBH running on it, wasn't referring to you at all Lank. I hopped on my main name and healed it all the way up to 3320 from about 200 and nothing, attacked a few riders until I died or went to hospital and repeated until I used all 30 of my stamina and it never popped up. I didn't zoom out my Opera like I normally do to get the super quick attacks but I'll try it in a bit.

It depends on what you are doing on Myspace really for if you still get them. Like I use "Friend Blaster Pro" to send out friend requests and I still get them occasionally on there but for say, like *Edit*, it works perfectly for me.

It would be quite easy in coding to use a much simpler system no one would complain about.


You code the heal screen to have four buttons :

[ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]

Each of those in coding has a random assigned number, the database has a list of pre-compiled jpgs which clearly to the human eye say "HURT" or "HEAL"

The coding randomly makes one box say "heal" the other three say "hurt" when you press one, it submits the random number, the application parses that query and performs the action of "hurt" or heal" A human eye will get it right very quickly every time. A bot program will not be able to determine based on the picture, and since the number is RANDOM to that one screen instance, bot programs would not be able to pre-compile lists of working buttons and non working buttons. The button is assigned at the time of the page request from a random table, as is the picture..


Using the system I described you don't catch bot users, but they instead will HURT themselves equal to a heal 3 out of 4 times, effectively making the bot worthless... further the same random ambulance ride would instead kill them.


Problem solved, and no one has to type their fingers off..... why playdom with their millions of dollars in revenue from this game can't spend 10 minutes to engineer this type of solution is beyond me!

PS: if they need help, I'll even DONATE some time to the project!

Before anyone slams me saying it would slow down the game, who cares? as long as you slow down attack also in the same manner it's fair. If anything slowing it down a slight bit makes it more a question of human skill than internet connection. You could have "punch" and "police" (which takes you to jail and you have to pay to get out) and "attack enemy" "shoot foot" where you effectively take 10% of your own health by accidentally shooting yourself drawing your own weapon.

Using the system I described you don't catch bot users, but they instead will HURT themselves equal to a heal 3 out of 4 times, effectively making the bot worthless... further the same random ambulance ride would instead kill them.


Problem solved, and no one has to type their fingers off..... why playdom with their millions of dollars in revenue from this game can't spend 10 minutes to engineer this type of solution is beyond me!

PS: if they need help, I'll even DONATE some time to the project!

Before anyone slams me saying it would slow down the game, who cares? as long as you slow down attack also in the same manner it's fair. If anything slowing it down a slight bit makes it more a question of human skill than internet connection. You could have "punch" and "police" (which takes you to jail and you have to pay to get out) and "attack enemy" "shoot foot" where you effectively take 10% of your own health by accidentally shooting yourself drawing your own weapon.

I kinda like that idea ... Im not here to flame anyone , even GF , I dont know his reasoning exactly w/o hearing it from him but in light of all these bot users it certainly will wreak havoc on them and over this I giggle .....

the captchas honestly dont affect me, I play so infrequently and when I do manage to log in all I do is buy properties, run a few missions do my top mob and log out.

for example, me personally I like to have at least 10m in income for every level. my level 38 has an income of just over 390m an hour. maybe this is a bit extreme for the average person.
However, at level 48 you get access to malls and eventually other high end properties that should make income a breeze.
I would say that anyone past level 100 should very easily be past 7b bounty.

first off, I never needed bots to get bounties, why did you? I made the made men board at the time, with over 1,000 bounties collected by hand.

furthermore, there is a big difference between buying favor points and using a bot.

favor points do not violate the rules of mobsters or myspace, bots do.

first off, I never needed bots to get bounties, why did you? I made the made men board at the time, with over 1,000 bounties collected by hand.

furthermore, there is a big difference between buying favor points and using a bot.

this is a new addition to the game that has been implemented to a select few players. It was done in an effort to recognize and eliminate certain bot users, and was put into place due to the overwhelming requests amongst users. If this is successful we will be rolling it out soon to each account. Though it might make game play a little more challenging, we feel that on the broad spectrum if applied to everyone, then everyone must abide by the same rules of play, and that is more than fair.

I have already encountered overwhelming feedback regarding this issue, to which i can only respond, be careful what you wish for in the future.

as much as i can appreciate the concern that this will cause the hitlist to be much more empty i see thehitlist for a bounty hunter being moe fun now. there was a time before bots that there were hitlist riders so why should that change now? so alot of the riders are bot users, i just recently created an acount and made my first rider, i may not last 4-5 minutes like the bot users but i still get alot of wins, i just get alot more deaths in the process.

as for bounty hunting i remember when i used to hunt i would cick the refresh button with anticapation waiting to see that one person that pops up for a few seconds and hurrying to the attack button, that antisapation is what made bounty hunting so fun, and if you were fast or lucky enough to get an ttack you usually got the kill, that made a bounty so much more satisfying.

now you go to the hitlist and see 10-20 riders that have been on for several minutes, wheres the fun from antisapation? so the hitlist might be dry but there will still be people on it that are actual people hitlisted to kill in a war or battle, now you just need to earn the hit, and there will still be riders , im still gonna ride, i cant be the only one.

It's all about the image. Languages have certain modules, header files, libraries, etc. that you can use, usually do not come default with your library, that can help you read images. Then breaking the captcha is basically like breaking an easy personal encryption. You look at the similarities. Every letter/number has a certain color, texture, curviture, etc. to it. You program these finds into your little captcha breaking module and start on the next character. Basically, one would find multiple captcha's, save each image to their computer and start going through it trying to find the simliarities. It'll be even worse if the godfather did not write his own and used it from somewhere else as then there's probably code hanging around for it. Again, I haven't even ran into a captcha yet, so I don't even know how easy this would be or anything about it.

for those of you who think captchas will stop bots.. refer to this link http://www.penguin-soft.com/penguin/man/1/gocr.html it's one of many OCR (optical character recognition) programs that could easily be programmed into a bot to solve captchas.. the only thing the godfather did was make it EASIER on bots.. give them two weeks tops and they'll have ocr software for mobster bots.

There is a guy that auto heals on my fight list and if he didn't auto heal I wouldn't have been able to level from 500 to 530. He's good for close to 300 xp a stamina. Also before bots it was possible to transfer 100's of billions to a level 1 by listing a 300. Also, me being a hunter would be useless up there. Learn adapt overcome the aspects of the game, if it isn't enjoyable to you any more than quit. Do like me and view it as a chat room with benefits.

I cant lvl anymore cause the bot users turned em off for a while. Sucks.. There was always 2-3 lvl 500+s healed 24/7 and gave me the option to lvl... Since the GF wont add any game content for higher lvls the Bot users helped me lvl from 500 to 530

No, if you look. The person is on someone else's page. The person called "Just Peachy" is the person he is attacking. That is the person that has no bounties not the "suspected bot user" (Copyright The Godfather 2009).

..my idea was IMAGES that are RANDOMLY generated (same way a captcha is) and linked to s a submission number. hence the one that "heals" would MOVE randomly, the ones that hurt would be the majority... with a small chance of killing yourself... this would apply to healing and attacking... this would SOLVE the bot issue, as random numbers would not have a pattern that could be "cracked" and the bots can't guess which button is correct. By having a 2/3's harmful or 3/4's harmful ratio, a bot user would hurt themselves more than help themselves hence you get rid of the bot users.


I rode the hitlist as I always do, the old fashion click the mouse myself way. Didn't get one captcha. In fact of all my friends the worst of the honest players got one every FEW HUNDERED shots. however it only takes one fail to get knocked off for five days. So as much as it may suck to ONCE IN A WHILE have to fill ONE out, possibly loosing a hit or taking a death due to it, bot users will still get hit eventually and loose 5 days, and I suspect the typical 5day-15day-30day-permanent delete progression for successive failures. It's worth it to me, and every other honest player. I know too many people who click their mouse to death trying to out race the bot users. With just the minuscule number of people it's caught already, honest players have an easier time getting an occasional bounty... I think many of you forget it is still a <b> GAME </b> that YOU as an <b>human being </b> are supposed to play, not a contest of who has the best automated software. The challenges of this type of game are supposed to be strategy, planning, social manipulation, and to a lesser extent speed/dexterity. NOT who has the best macro to make his player score off the lists automatically.

I would bet a billion mobster dollars every person in here bashing it.. and saying "wahhh.. you'll be crying now about it they'll be horrible" trying to get people to ask for it's removal is a bot user. I'm perfectly fine with every person who uses a bot getting deleted. Just like every "cheater" who used fraud to score g/f points I believe should be scrapped, and pulled from the made mens list.... Of course i'm going to piss everyone off for saying these things because you all WANT your unfair advantage to help make up for simply not playing the game well.


Captchas will not be beat by bots. No automated program has ever come even CLOSE to human speed (real time) at reliably deciphering them. Good luck with your fear tactics.

Don't get me wrong, I think they're a pain just as much as the next guy, hence why I offered A BETTER bot proof solution that would save us all typing our fingers off filling them out. However you should stop "Crying" yourselves and blaming the "crybabies" if no one was using bots or macros, then no one would have complained and we'd never be to this point. I wouldn't even give a damn ( as much) If these Captchas were being used for there INTENDED purpose ( bot users) But I STILL see xxxbadkarma and The Papermaker riding undisturbed so it's pretty much a double standard..:rolleyes: They've been riding non stop for a few days now And Neither have gotten Temp Banned nor any Captcha ( if they did then their Heal bots would stop tilll it was entered.. I can't ride more than a few hours without getting temp banned for 3 days so I've pretty much said fuc k it and stopped playing.

This is because These big bot users are not GETTING CAPTCHAS.. Captchas are NOT that easy to work around.. Not Myspaces anyway, I don't know what type The godfather got his from.

The techonology and capability to defeat captchas already exist. All it will take is any of the several bot makers to incorporate it.

It will not take long, before regular humans are the only ones having to deal with captcha's while bots easily side step them.. So enjoy every captcha you get.

You show me ONE Commercially used Myspace Captcha bypasser and I will revoke my statement..
I use Friendblaster Pro which is the biggest bot ( Myspace friend adding etc wise) which STILL after a year can't bypass captchas..
I don't know where The Godfather is implementing his captchas from but if it is anything like Myspaces then it won't be bypassed any time soon. I'm not saying they Don't exist, I'm saying Myspace mobster Bots won't be getting it implemented anytime soon. i've talked to 3 of the main bot programmers and they said all their going to do is make it in their program where people can Enter the captcha in it. No word on bypassing it.

no captchas suck, who gives a shit about cheaters, cheaters have existed since the beginning of man and every sport or anything you can even think of has cheaters. Just ignore them and do your own thing, and if it bugs you that bad then I guess deep down inside you wanna cheat also.

Unfortunately, since it was your suggestion, you were fated to be a scapegoat despite your suggestion only pertained to the hitlist according to the original post of your thread in suggestions. All in all though it should be made known that captcha has been known to fail in fulfilling its purpose. Take for example Yahoo Chat, one must enter a captcha before entering. The problem is that spammers/message bots STILL bypass the captcha, which in turn acts as a burden to the human users. Despite that this example is not game related, I could understand it being scrutinized, however it is merely an example to state WHY captcha isn't the holy grail that will solve the internet universally.

All this captcha stuff does with me basically is that since I don't play that much anyway, that I should not have to increase my playing rate. Also it must be noted that it would practically be pointless to try bounty hunting or hitlist riding now due to the simple fact that the captcha surfacing will simply ruin the experience; not to mention that fast key/mouse clicks are the means of the difference between success and failure. Factor in that my laptop is rather slow (or anyone's system could be slow for the matter) and if said user got halted by a captcha? That would result in unhappy campers, not to mention many innocents affected

Umm...These captchas are whacked out totally...Another mess up in the game. Now its more annoying to play. In the middle of catching a bounty "Enter captcha" go back to get the bounty after solving the captcha & its no longer on the list.....

..my idea was IMAGES that are RANDOMLY generated (same way a captcha is) and linked to s a submission number. hence the one that "heals" would MOVE randomly, the ones that hurt would be the majority... with a small chance of killing yourself... this would apply to healing and attacking... this would SOLVE the bot issue, as random numbers would not have a pattern that could be "cracked" and the bots can't guess which button is correct. By having a 2/3's harmful or 3/4's harmful ratio, a bot user would hurt themselves more than help themselves hence you get rid of the bot users.


I rode the hitlist as I always do, the old fashion click the mouse myself way. Didn't get one captcha. In fact of all my friends the worst of the honest players got one every FEW HUNDERED shots. however it only takes one fail to get knocked off for five days. So as much as it may suck to ONCE IN A WHILE have to fill ONE out, possibly loosing a hit or taking a death due to it, bot users will still get hit eventually and loose 5 days, and I suspect the typical 5day-15day-30day-permanent delete progression for successive failures. It's worth it to me, and every other honest player. I know too many people who click their mouse to death trying to out race the bot users. With just the minuscule number of people it's caught already, honest players have an easier time getting an occasional bounty... I think many of you forget it is still a <b> GAME </b> that YOU as an <b>human being </b> are supposed to play, not a contest of who has the best automated software. The challenges of this type of game are supposed to be strategy, planning, social manipulation, and to a lesser extent speed/dexterity. NOT who has the best macro to make his player score off the lists automatically.

I would bet a billion mobster dollars every person in here bashing it.. and saying "wahhh.. you'll be crying now about it they'll be horrible" trying to get people to ask for it's removal is a bot user. I'm perfectly fine with every person who uses a bot getting deleted. Just like every "cheater" who used fraud to score g/f points I believe should be scrapped, and pulled from the made mens list.... Of course i'm going to piss everyone off for saying these things because you all WANT your unfair advantage to help make up for simply not playing the game well.

Don't get me wrong, I think they're a pain just as much as the next guy, hence why I offered A BETTER bot proof solution that would save us all typing our fingers off filling them out. However you should stop "Crying" yourselves and blaming the "crybabies" if no one was using bots or macros, then no one would have complained and we'd never be to this point. You want to blame someone, blame the bot USERS, each and every one of you who has used one is partially responsible for captchas being present. Want to place blame? look in the mirror!

Know what you're talking about before you go off on this rant about "fear tactics" and such.
