Avatar guide?

The avatars page says "more items achievable through game play." Does this mean more items become available at certain levels, or is there another way to unlock new items (i.e. completing a specific mission a certain number of times)? Anyone know?

There are a couple of missions available now that give you some pants and a weapon for the avatars.

Im not sure, they should have a blue background on the title bar though, regular missions are Red.

I think one is called Rob an Old Navy Store and the other is Rob an Army/Navy Store or something like that. I don't know what the weapon one is called, I know its a shotgun though.
