No GF dont forget about the original! This app should just be updated rather than make a new app on Facebook (Seriously, who goes on Facebook just to play an app?). Here is an example of what you are doing. (A dog has some small minor issues and is thrown out on the street because of that and is replaced by a vicious pitbull that kills the owner of the dog with issues.) Do you get what I am saying GF? If you leave the original mobsters to rot for Mobsters 2 then your are hurting yourself.

Well... He must really love Facebook then?

If anything though, maybe the Godfather is releasing it on Facebook first, then many, MANY months will pass and he'll put it on MySpace. The effect: Most of MySpace would be noobs on Mob2 as opposed to veteran Facebook players.

As for the browser specs.... :rolleyes: I don't like IE as it is slow on my laptop, and FF is just a memory hog on my laptop. Chrome is actually ok. If anything though, my laptop is just crappy....

Odd that a javascript game needs such high performance hardware to play? :confused: ....yeah.... rather troublesome if you ask me. But that is life I suppose as I can still play...just not to the full extent like others can

"Tired of those long bank lines? With the most recent update to Mobsters 2: Vendetta, you will no longer have to deal with the hassles of withdrawing money from the bank to complete transactions. If you have no money on hand but you want to buy equipment, build a territory, or travel to another destination on the world map, you can now do this with one simple click. Simply click Buy, Build or Move and the game will automatically withdraw the money from your bank account for you.

Also released today were new alert buttons on the navigation bar. These alerts will appear when you have the ability to complete an action in a certain part of the game. Some of the more common actions you will see alerts for are: Income from Territories is ready for collection; Skill Points are available for allocation; and new Equipment is available for purchase.

Enjoy these updates, hopefully they make the game more fun and allow you more free=dom to roam throughout the Mobsters World. Stay tuned for more updates coming along in the near future!

Part 1 (suggestions)

1. Don't use negative rep just because you disagree with an opinion of a poster. Their opinion is just as valid as your's. If they are being a total jerkwad, posting spam, repeating the same tired old mantra over and over again, or even if you think they are just posting to up their post count. These are valid reasons to give negative rep. If you give negative rep then be mobster enough to tell them why and sign the rep.

2. Don't use positive rep just because a mobster is your friend, because you want to encourage someone who is picking on a member you may not like, or just because someone asks for it. Make sure they deserve it. Posts that help you figure things out, posts that make sense out of a senseless situation, Posts that answer a question you asked in such a way that it is easy to understand, and posts that tickle your funny bone.

Part 2 (Da' Rules)

1. If you give rep (good or bad), the rules that apply to the regular forum applies to rep comment's as well. Be courteous in telling why you rep'ed them the way you did.

2. Spamming of negative or positive rep for no apparent reason may get the ability to rep removed by the GF. So if you give it, support the reason.

If you're gonna make a sequel to a game that requires a large investment in time.

Make is so we can transfer our mobsters over with ALL of their stuff and while expanding upon the first one. I would be completely OK and HAPPY with M2 if I could take my M1 mobster and EVERYTHING it has into M2. It would actually be really cool if they were linked somehow so I could play in both games and use all my stuff in both games.

Go read the rules and don't -rep people because you feel differently than them. All I see in your statement is "ME ME ME, MY WAY, MY WAY, MY WAY, IF YOU DON'T THINK LIKE ME THEN FAIL".. and that's just not right. My rep does not change who I am as a person. The developers are working hard on all you requests. For example go look at the "ENERGY" tab. Is Playdom ignoring Mobsters 1 now? I understand where you're coming from on that. I have played it, not much, but I did. I got turned off by having to collect my property income and there being limited slots for them. It felt like Overdrive in that sense. I do like the class tree, experience rate, and the different cities for missions. I do feel the interface is nice, but could use some rearranging. If they fixed a few things and would allow me a 100% transfer of my M1 mobster into it, I would prolly love it. I just feel hung out to dry right now, like M1 is being abandoned and all my fun is over or slowly dieing. I post in these M2 threads every now and then (and I don't post much or complain much) to add to the complaints because I feel the GF needs to hear that M1 is still alive and kicking and screaming for more and most people who play it don't want to start a new game, they want to continue on the one they've been playing the last year. I only do this because I feel as though the GF (until this last week) has been ignoring everyone here and that just makes people complain more. I do like how things are starting (knock on wood) to pick up. The GF released a few things this week and seems to be interested in addressing some of the errors in the game like the invite system being broken or painful to use.

What do you feel are +++ in M2 over M1?

Oh, to be on more topic. I do like that there is a developer blog for M2, but I would like to see one for M1 as well. There used to be a GF Blog last year until the forums came. It was mostly announcements. I would like the blogs to have polls on changes they want to make instead of just changing things and ticking people off. That way if we vote "DO IT", and we end up hating it, they can always come back and say "hey, you said to do it!".

I like a lot about M2. I really like the fact that you have to pay to travel (it's like spending money on gas or a plane ticket)(we have Vegas now also). The update on the territories was a great thing. Now we make what we would in real life for the most part. The way I see it is that the Godfather is making M2 to be a more real life scenario game. The script or choices you make while doing the GF missions change depending on your choices. That's really cool as well. The fact that you have the ability to purchase most M1 limited weapons in M2 is a plus also. I like the prices of the weapons (with the cap on property) it makes every weapon you purchase that much more valuable to you. I really enjoy the fact that after 500 wins your bounty goes up by $500 per win after that. This puts a damper on the riders. I mean in real life who would put them selves on a hit list. So I'm OK with that. Also some people complain about having to collect your income. Look at it this way, if your a mobster in real life you have to go collect your money or you won't get it. So I like it. All the new achievements are wonderful. I don't care if Playdom got the idea from some other app, I feel as if they are doing a better job at operating it. Also the fact that you get full refills for every lvl up is also great. The experience needed to level is high and many of us enjoy being able to fight and do more missions per level. So in return every level you increase is a mini achievement in it's self. So thats another plus. This game should not allow you to transfer or link your M1 account there, cause it's a completely different concept, and the way you interact and play the game is more dynamic and complex. I like to think and use my intellect as much as I can and M2 allows me this. You have to think more as a real life individual rather than some picture on a screen for the most part. There's more but I don't wanna bog down this thread.:cool:

I enjoy the escape it gives me from the real world. It relaxes me and I don't take it to seriously. I have spend some money on this game, not much as others, but some. If I ever have to I will spend a couple hundred thousand, just to keep it operational for the ones that enjoy the game for it's cutting edge gameplay. It broke away from the typical app and made it interactive to all the players. Playdoms broadcast system was one of the first of it's kind, and when they made it free to use I was happy. I remember the days of spending 30,000 to broadcast 'hey' or 'how are you' lol. Just don't take the game to heart like some do. This is not real life and should not be viewed as so. It was a fun game to play yesterday, but for some reason today there seems to be some issue with starting the app. Kind of a shame you guys don't test this stuff a bit better before rolling out changes. Half of the time yesterday I had to keep clicking of equipemnt to get the stuff to show up. Then later that night everything seemed to work very smoothly.
I really like the class system and the fast recharge time for energy and stamina.

In my opinion as far as a "computer game" goes mobsters 2 is more complex and has more strategy (with all the new classes) therefore making it somewhat of a better game to play. Mobsters Uno is very simple and straight forward. As a
Highly defensive hitlist rider I would say the game is pretty unfair. I can't remember the formula exactly but its pretty close to 2defence=1attack which makes the game even more boring (mostly because there arn't any real riders out there that havn't placed $200+ on the game) So now a days newbies are hybrid (energy+attack+stamina) and the people that "know what they are doing" are straight attackers sitting at lower levels waiting for newbs to get on the list. :D

my actual opinion is they both arn't very good seeing as it costs a lot to be considered "good" at the game. However mobsters 2 wins slightly because of its complexity.

My recommendation is if you like mobsters play Utopia by Swirve its pretty good and you don't spend money on it ;)

Oh and a suggestion on getting rid of botters. Believe it or not Runescape has this friggen figured out, they simply change the X/Y thingy (thats probably not helpful) another idea would simply create some simple java that if you are logged on to mobsters for X+ minutes it creates a random box on the screen with a message that you have to click. Pretty simple to make yo. Or if u wanna do it the stupid myspace way just do a captcha every 10 minutes (does not reset after you log out of course, which means every time you enter mobsters you have to type one in O.O) but really those are the only ways to get rid of the bots. Because its internet based they can't put up a wall or anything that blocks 3rd party systems unless they have access to your computer which i'm sure nobody in the right mind would give, which brings me to conclusion, make it downloadable only and after you download it you can play online O.O which gives them the ability to create anti hacks (however seeing as the programming in mobsters is all html and i think a little bit of java, havn't looked at source yet the programmers might suck at C++ or i guess C sense it isn't OOP so good luck with that. If you don't like these ideas then quit complaining about the Bots, suck it up and do 1 or 2 things, either A. Quit or B. Shut up and play :cool:

A.) If you're not a programmer, shut up about programming. B.) It is not "more" complex. In fact, I believe it is the complete opposite. Mobsters 2 will probably never have war, which is probably a major factor in the success of the OG. This second one is all about simple attack/defend because of the location-based limitations. And that is NOT hard to figure out.

Personally I don't see myself spending anytime with Mobsters2. I've got way too much invested in the original. Been actively involved in a mob family as underboss as well as the time spent in learning the game literally from day 1.

I've spent too many years in software development myself and seen companies literally put themselves out of business trying to co-opt people from an original version of the game. Case in point: Godfather has turned the whole thing regarding godfather points needed to get hired guns or unique items into a cash cow. Now he's gonna try and get that much more out of people by convincing them to play Mobsters2. I seriously doubt that will happen with me. Rather than tie the original down to myspace or facebook, he would be better off turning it into a full blown online internet game not constrained by a social network.

Let me start by saying, I will probably not ever see a response to this message, because I don't come here even rarely, but I at least wish to speak my mind on the whole situation.

About me: I have been playing games since Pong. (yep, I'm old! :) )
I have been coding/working on games since PCs had dual 5.25" floppy drives.
I have spent the last 10 years working for, and alongside, attorneys and the Judges of the civil courts.

I am tired of all the complaints, cursing, and general bad attitudes presented here in this forum towards the GF and Playdom. I find them entirely childish, non-informative, offensive, and leave me no question as to why the GF, or another member of Playdom, does not bother replying in-thread to any of these posts, or even much on the forum at all.

As a game player of many console, computer and online games, I have had to contend with games being 'left behind'. That when a new one comes out in a series, I can either accept it and spend my money/time on it, or leave it. Sometimes the new version is good, sometimes it stinks, in my opinion, but if I don't like it I have the choice to leave it behind and be happy with what I have had previously until a new game or update comes out in the style of or for the version(s) I enjoy.

As a game programmer (don't ask, I have never distributed or shared anything I have written...I don't consider any of them worth others' time) I am overly aware of the time, money, and heart that are put into creating a game. I have spent more of these resources on games in the past than I would care to admit. I am aware of how long it takes to debug and correct code errors when problems come up in-game, or how new software/hardware that I want to take advantage of would require a goodly amount of scrapping existing code and writing new code. I am informed on how many people can send emails or letters in regards to a game when things don't go right, in their opinion. But as a person on the journey of life, I do have things that require my attention aside from working on a game I have worked on or am working on all the time. In the past, if I replied to every message, letter, and email I received regarding a game problem, complaint, or otherwise, I would never have any time to actually work on the game. So many of such messages are not responded to. A curse of the solo programmer that we must accept as reality. It makes few happy with this situation, but it is a requirement when you are on your own.

As a member of the legal community I am aware of many aspects of consumer law that relate to theft and plagiarism. I have seen many posts from people saying they submitted ideas to the developers and have never seen them implemented or were ignored. Consider that since the developer and Playdom are working on this to try to get you to spend some time and perhaps even money on it, that to use your ideas without a Free Use, or similar, contract/agreement that you could sue them for plagiarism or theft? I would contend that is one of the reasons that these ideas are not seen or brought to light in the games. Pictures, ideas, concepts, all can, and are, protected by copyright laws and enforceable in a court of law. To use your ideas could subject the developer or Playdom to legal action; I can't blame them for not using many or all of your ideas!

As a final note, if you don't like a game, don't play it. If you have so many complaints about a game, don't play it. If you think you have so many good ideas, complain that the developers don't use your ideas or choose not to continue to support a game, try building your own and let the public rate you. If you are such a good artists, or have such good ideas, try protecting those works, or defending in court against those that believe you stole theirs. Try to consider all these factors before you start whining and complaining about a game. Remember, there are plenty of other people out there that may actually enjoy what you are complaining about.

i dig mobsters 2 a lot, please get it onto myspace. the only thing that sucks is how long it takes to level, i'm in the 400's on the original mobsters and i level like twice a day on average. on mobsters 2, i'm level 21 and it already takes me a day to level twice lol. and one thing that was a big turnoff was the property too but all in all mobsters 2 is pretty awesome.

I am having an issue with my territories and I don't see a bug or issue thread...my territories disappear randomly and often. I haven't been selling them and its usually one sometimes 2 and I have to repurchase them.
