Ok, I dont know if this will work for the Playdom ID part but, I just synced my Iphone and updated my software on it. Which means, removing everything off it and putting it back on, and i did NOT have to relink my app to Myspace. It remembered everything from the backup so, when you sync it to you new phone off your existing ITunes with the app and info on it, it should move all the info over to your new one AS LONG AS you install a backup of your old phone.

So, this should work with Playdom too then right? even switching to another phone?

Possibly. I know when I did the software update it was one continuous thing. They can try if the back up stays when the iPod is not still connected. I am about to go digging through iTunes to see if there is a way to save data from the phone into iTunes without it going away when removing the iPhone.
It should work. Just go to restore your old one to factory settings then unplug it when it is finished back up and plug in your new one and get that set up with the back-up info.

you guys sure that Mobsters does not sync with server based on IMEI or some other iPhone/Itouch specific serial? I can almost be sure that if you restore/sync with a different phone and because of the new serial/IMEI (whatever it is) that it will see it as a new account... The reason both bill and brando were able to back up their account was because it was the same phone, I believe with a new phone or different phone the same information wont be saved due to server side confirmation... I dunno maybe im wrong...

Well when I did the back up I unplugged my iPod for some reason and when I plugged it back in, I had the option of putting the back-up onto the same iPod or setting the iPod up as brand new as if it were never used before.

But are we 100% certain that mobsters upon loading up the first time does not check server to see account based on IMEI/Serial... because like I said in another post whats it stop then from people backing up/sync'ing more than one iPhone/Ipod and using the same account on two different devices?..
