Thanks so much for doing this! I found it a couple of days ago but of course it was after I unlocked the downtown shopping mall, was a dumbass and sold a skyscraper and seaside resort to buy it and lost an assload of money.

This is a kick ass spreadsheet. But i have 1 question... How do we use the fight calc. When we have no clue how many mobsters our enemy have, what thier attack or deffense or any other that valuable info that is need to calc that?

And once again
thank you

The purpose behind the fight calculator is to try and make sense of those odd fights you'll run across, and to see the effects of different skill and equipment versus your current setup. You don't have to know the enemy's stats to use it.

If I may, its more of a, "Lets test out how good my stats are versus someone who has These stats so I know who to and who not to attack" kinda deal. My stats are set up using this so that I can attack most anyone on my own level and win. Works for me when I use my 17 stamina to go attacking 500+member mobs and win with only 260 of my own and get 70k per attack. (Level 51).

ORLY With the downtown shopping malls with the QTY at 30 current price is $200,000,000 but the cost 10 is $2,009,900,000. When it should be $2,000,000,000. Just an FYI.

Let me guess, you own 1 Plaza, right?

The price you're seeing is because you still have to buy 9 more Plazas (which now cost $1,100,000 each), then the Malls at $200,000,000.

Math doesn't lie!

If you don't want to use your currently owned Undeveloped Territories in the formulas, uncheck the option at the bottom. It'll still include the cost of the land purchase in the cost, because it is a valid factor in determining your purchase's value.

Thanks for the sheet, nice work :).
I have a request; wouldnt it be nicer if we had three figures after the decimal point instead of two in the ROI column? I suppose the colours show you which one is higher when you have same values but having it would be a lil more informative. Watcha think?

PS.: sorry if its been asked before.

I'm actually working on redoing the ROI figure to make more sense for the average player. ROI can be calculated in many different ways.

Well if youre going to change it the way you say on the ROI popup window, its cool by me but it might confuse that average player. Its definitely more informative that way though.

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but the "Hours 10" and "Days 10" boxes on my sheet do not appear to be working.

Also, one small suggestion. Your ROI numbers do not include the cost of the undeveloped land they require. This can make a big difference, especially with the ones that require Seaside Lots.

I am no expert, but it seems to me that if you are already maxed out on weapons, your only option is to level up and use skill points to increase defense.

To extract the spreadsheet file, double-click the zip file to open it. It should open like a folder, and you can drag the file out. Also, you can right-click the .zip file, and choose "Extract All" to extract the .xls file.

Then, you can select it within OpenOffice Calc. You should be able to double-click the spreadsheet as well once it's extracted.

At lower levels, defense skill won't seem like much. However, as long as you maintain the proper mob size for your level, you'll quickly see it jump up as you gain levels and dump points into it. In fact, you can almost go without any equipment whatsoever at the highest levels, because the higher you go in levels, the less equipment does for you since you're maxxed out at 500 of each type (weapon, armor, vehicle), unless you pay good money for godfather points and get lots of hired guns.

Sorry in advance if this question was addressed in another post. I love this spreadsheet! There is some feedback I have for Orly. Is it possible for you to add functionality for the limited items such as the Mack Titan or the Bomb Disposal Suit? I have some of each personally and I don't think the spreadsheet is exactly accurate without taking these into consideration. Perhaps making a worksheet where a user can define custom equipment to avoid you having to add the stats for each piece of equipment?

Anyways, thanks Orly!

Hello all,

Since I'm not from America or another english speaking country, I find it hard to undertand much of what is typed above. I would love to know what I;m doing wrong with my equipment, 'cause I thought I had the best as far as needed, but when people attack me I always LOSE.
So, can somebody help me with this spreadsheet or can somebody answer me back in a private message so we can look at it together?

And, last question, when I have 500 people in my mob, do I only need 500 weapons, 500 cars etc.?

Orly,

Once again, love the spreadsheet. I have a suggestion for you. Could you possibly add functionality to the income ledger to account for average hourly, daily, and weekly mission income? Should be simple enough to implement seeing as you already calculate energy regeneration time and average payouts for missions. It should just take a simple table with a drop down selection box to choose the preferred mission, displaying the number of vehicles, badges, or profit.. Can then be combined with territory revenue to get more accurate figures assuming one continuously completes the chosen mission without wasting energy..

Just a thought, I would just add it to my local copy if it weren't protected =)

I think this is great, but could you add another column which includes the number of hours required to make up the difference after buying a certain number of properties? Like if you have $2Bil, and you use it to buy 10 downtown shopping malls, the column would tell you how many hours before the investment pays for itself.

I understand the spreadsheet can't be modified, however it won't let me change my level after I leveled up. Is this correct? It's pretty inconvenient to have to re-download and re-do the entire spreadsheet every time you level...

Since the GF is clearly going to continue creating new items and you are going to update your spreadsheet. Is is possible to give this an import function so that information from the old spreadsheet can be imported into the latest version? If this is possible will you please consider this as a function for the next version?

That didn't make sense. The spreadsheet doesn't know when you level up. You need to be clear as to what you're doing, and what is not happening.

It's not possible, sorry. Excel has no way of doing this.

What I do is select each section (contiguous green cells), copy, then paste them into the new sheet. You only have to be aware of the new cells then. It takes me less than a minute to transfer my data.

First off I want to say I love this spreadsheet! Thanks for taking the time to put it together.

My suggestion is due to all the new items the GF has been offering.

How about if you were to leave a blank row on the bottom of each category (vehicle, armor, etc) where we can enter in the name of an item and its info (defense, attack, upkeep, etc). Or something to that effect.

No worries, I'll keep adding the new items as I learn of them. I only log on every couple of days, but I usually update the sheet as soon as I see a new item. I'll have a new sheet with the M113 APC shortly.

Version 2.0.10 is ready! Includes the M113 APC and a little color-coding to show which items are promotional.

I predicted this item (http://forum.mobstersapp.com/showpost.php?p=342970&postcount=294), yet I'm surprised it doesn't have a higher attack value than the Humvee, but is basically slightly better than the Mack Titan for the same cost. Don't you feel silly now if you bought the Mack Titan? I wonder if this is the new trend for weeks to come...

Hi there.

I'm writting to you because I have enjoyed using your spreadsheet for months now. However, with the latest revision 2.0.10 there seems to be an error in calculating the Bomb Disposal Suit. When you enter a quantity it accepts the amount, however under the upkeep rate the amount is $0 and the Full Upkeep is $0.

Can you possibly fix this as it is throwing off my upkeep and income ledger.

It's my understanding that the Bomb Disposal Suit has no upkeep, thus the math is correct. If I'm wrong, somebody needs to show me what it is. I've not seen anyone mention upkeep for this item anywhere. I don't make enough money to buy one of every special promo item the GF puts out. I wish!!

Well yer:p

BUT, you don't know what your enemy is using. Sure you can make estimates but I can usually tell if I can beat by someone and how close the win was by the amount of damage done to me/them. The closer the two numbers, the closer the fight was.

Divide the price by the income. Its not that hard to do yourself, you don't need a spreadsheet to do that.

my extreme appologies!! under equipment I have 3 items listed and of course i have the best of everything. So being that it's the last in the category of equipment on my mobsters page I went and put it in the last category on the armor category..sorry..dork here. forgot about the stupid extra toys by the gf for extra gf points only..Since I didn't really buy any because they were basically useless and only money in the bank for the GF, because to of any use whatsoever you'd have to spend umm..how much $$$ to equip your mob. LOL umm..useless..so this was a useless category that I forgot about.

Again, my appologies Orly..Great job as always on the spreadsheet.

But, while i have you. when it comes to territory..when is really not of use to buy the townhomes condos ect... i mean.. ROI shows what to buy when, how many condos do you have to buy to equal the income of shopping malls? it seems at some point the income from shopping malls and even casinos outweighs the spending of money on lower properties.

Just curious..Thanks

My level 86 doesn't have this mission and my level 206 does. Just trying to be helpful, I know it's not very specific but I'm hoping we can pinpoint the level requirements with some teamwork..

Whew, I'm getting some sleep, but I'll keep working at it tomorrow (today). I'm still missing some level requirement info, but I may go ahead and finish this update and add the other info as it comes in.

Still to do:

REQUIRED: update main mob data sheet with new requirements and items
REQUIRED: update fight calculator
NON-CRITICAL: add missing level requirements for certain missions, verify police escort VALUE (which determines SALE VALUE). I have one report of $2,500,000 sale value, but no confirmation of whether this is the value, (which would make the sale value actually $1,250,000), or if the value is shown as $5,000,000. Yea, I'm tired. :p

I've been working on a few other changes, so I'll see what else I can bundle into this update.

Let me be VERY clear, I have everything I need, EXCEPT this information:

Level Requirements for the following Missions:

Open High-Class Escort Agency
Engineer a Prison Breakout
Import Counterfeit Rolexes
Sell Counterfeit Rolexes

Level Requirements for the following items:

10-Liter Sarin Gas Sprayer
Trans-Kevlar Armed Suit
Hughes 500 Helicopter

Lastly, this stat info:

Verify Small Police Escort Value (half of which becomes the sale value). I have a report of $2,500,000. Can someone please take a screenshot of it?

Then how did you post this message? You can't post without confirmation.

Did you follow my instructions? I'll bet you skipped this part:

EXTRACT the spreadsheet from the zip file you download from here.

The file is fine, otherwise I'd get hundreds of complaints, so you must be missing something. Follow the instructions, then let me know if you're still having a problem.

I fixed the two bugs for income/upkeep. Try downloading the current one, and copy/paste your data into it (you can select adjacent green cells and copy/paste them at one time, it's how I transfer my own data).

You also might want to edit your post above and kill that HUGE quote of the first post.

Maybe I'm just a crazy but for some reason my incomes are not the same. I'm running new version. Not that it really matters because I rarely look at the income per hour on the sheet when I can look at it on the terrority page.

Well, without knowing what your numbers are for properties and equipment, there's no way for me to troubleshoot it. You're probably missing some equipment or something simple. I tested the current version with my own data (and I own a lot of different assets), and it all adds up perfectly now for me.

The word income can mean gross income or net income. Which is incorrect? Both? Is your upkeep matching correctly? More info is needed to properly help you.

I've doublechecked all my quantities and they're right...the amounts are right too...but in the upkeep area, it's off. I know it's off because cells J41(1,487,500), J50(1,115,000) and J69(50,800) should add up to 2,653,300. Which is also what it has in the game for my upkeep. However, in cell J13 where it has my total upkeep it has 2,278,300. The difference is 375,000 which is my price for the 30 transkevlar suits I have...so I'm assuming your total upkeep formula doesn't use the total field but instead uses the individual cells per item...

By the way, I LOOOVE this spreadsheet but didn't run across it til like level 55...wish I'd have had it from the beginning. I'm considering starting a lower level using it from the beginning. LOL

I noticed the Mission Calculator worksheet the Avg $ / E column (E) gets different results than I do by hand. I think I'm right in assuming by the comment that this column is supposed to show how much money (on average) each energy point is worth. This should be derived by the average payout divided by the mission energy cost. It is currently derived by the average daily payout divided by the amount of energy regenerated per day (which doesn't make sense to me). By doing the math by hand I find the best money:energy ratio is High Stakes Gambling with $83,333.3 money returned per energy point ($1,250,000 avg payout / 15 energy cost). According to the E column of the worksheet the most efficient money making mission is Open High-Class Escort Agency at $183,333 but it really only produces $61,111.1 ($2,750,000 average payout / 45 energy cost). The gambling mission also produces a better experience:energy yield (which is calculated accurately in the worksheet) so IMHO this is by far the best mission to do on a regular basis. If my logic is correct, the correct formulae are:
High Stakes Gambling =G15/'Mission Data'!E15
Open High-Class Escort Agency =G16/'Mission Data'!E16

I'm not sure, exactly, what dividing the average money per day by the average energy regenerated per day is.. if I'm not thinking about this right could somebody please correct me so I understand it correctly?

Thanks a lot and I hope it helps,
-Weapo

Orly , I use the spreadsheet always ;) but something isnt right , here is example,
Your Territory: (Income $167,220,400, Upkeep From Equipment: $30,173,320 )

Cash Flow:$137,047,080 every 55 minutes. Next paid in: 54 minutes

This is what spread sheet says , I went & checked to be sure all fields were filled in correctly,,
Gross Income $153,620,400
Upkeep Cost $30,173,320 ( UpKeep Registers Correctly)
Net Income $123,447,080
Bank Fees $12,344,708
Banked Income $111,102,372

I updated my blog for the new year, and completed course 101 for mobsters.
In Section 202: ( COMMING SOON ) for teaching advanced mobster stragety, I want to include your sheet... i'm old school I guess, I audit by hand on paper and have hella accounts so I don't spreadsheet them.

However, its awesome what you have created.... and I want to offer a section for you.

Can you make me a custom 1, ( joking of course ) I want to audit my 16 accounts then have a new tab in the worksheet that adds up the resources of all the other accounts... ROLF so i know when my combined income hits 3 billion per hour lolz... i'm close to 2B :D

My total income is 141,504,000. My Upkeep is 21,903,900. At the bottom of the sheet under Full Income is says I have 141,504,000 income but under Gross income it says 135,504,000 with a net income of 113,533,100. I just went back and re-entered everything once again and I believe I have figured out the problem. It's not counting my Helipad income. I own 10 which would equal 6,000,000.

I see on the spreadsheet the values for attack and defense strength are listed using different equipment in the Attack and Defense calculations. My question is this, Does the game use different equipment when being attacked than it does when attacking? If so, does it then make sense to keep full compliments of the stronger defensive equipment as well as the offensive equipment?

Yes, the game will use the best equipment available to you for attack or defense, depending on the situation. Many higher levels keep 500 swats and 500 humvees + 500 guided missiles and 500 miniguns. With the new equipments, some will change their complement, but at higher levels the equipment point difference is negligible compared to skill points, so you'll have to determine if the insane upkeep is worth the tiny possibility of an advantage.

Easy, grab the sheet again, I made a quick fix to it on the first day. You must have grabbed the bad version. The bad version doesn't tally helipad's nor airport's income. To transfer your numbers, you can copy/paste whole sections of green cells at a time. That's how I do it.

Yes, and more!

Three new fields in my latest version (not released yet) will be both Total Invested (minimum amount needed to buy what you have now), Total Assets (what you'd get if you sold everything), and Total Wealth (add in cash and banked funds to assets). Total Wealth would be a better Most Wealthy value, don't you think?

Caveat: The new version will require two vb functions, so I'll be releasing two versions in the same zip, one for Excel (.xls), one for OpenOffice (.ods). You'll need to make sure you allow the macros (just two custom functions to calculate the above fields) to run. Since I'm not using any ActiveX controls, just basic scripted functions, there shouldn't be any issues. To avoid this, I'd have to create lookup tables that would add about 750k per territory to the size of the sheet. Eww.

Any chance that you can make it so when you're buying territories, it sees whether you have the undeveloped land required for the development and if you don't, add the land price to the calculations? It probably doesn't make much sense, so an example!

Your best buy according to the calculator is a Seaside Resort for a 200,000$ income if you pay 20,000,000$ per land, but you can buy Downtown Shopping Malls for a 500,000$ income for 50,000,000$ per. In reality, if you don't own the undeveloped territories, they cost 24,000,000$ and 51,000,000$ respectively, making the Mall actually a better investment.

I don't know if you understand it, but I tried my best. :P

Do you plan to add the Empty Field, Helipad, and Airport to Territories?

Empty Field
Income: $100,000
Initial Cost $75,000,000

Helipad
Income $600,000
Built on Vacant Lot
Each Requires 50 Mob Members
Initial Cost $300,000,000

Airport
Income: $1,000,000
Built On: Empty Field
Each Requires 60 Mob Members
Initial Cost $900,000,000

I'm not sure at what level any of these became available, because I was around level 200 when they were introduced. The Empty Field and Helipad follow the same cost progression as all of the properties (except Vacant Lots), but I haven't bought any Airports yet, so I can't say for sure on them.

from the first post:

If you don't have Microsoft Excel 2003 or 2007 installed, you can use OpenOffice.org's Calc 3.x (http://download.openoffice.org/) for FREE.
I tested it, and it works fine. The free Excel viewers won't let you enter data, so don't use them. Microsoft Works is not supported, nor is WordPerfect's suite, nor any other spreadsheet program other than the three programs I've validated above as compatible (Excel 2003, Excel 2007, OpenOffice.org Calc).

Orly, I would like to recommend that the HeliPads and Airports be separated from the other properties on the spreadsheet for a correct ROI.

The reason being is that these two properties are skewing the ROI's as to the best buys. Furthermore they require 500 mobsters for each 10 HeliPads and 600 mobsters more for 10 airports.
Therefore you will need 1000 mobsters in your mob for the level 200 mission and 600 more for the level 400 mission.

Thank you for this spreadsheet...This is the first thing I tell people to download when they join the Damn Loyal PAQ. It has made the game more enjoyable for those mobsters!

The ROI value is correct, though. It's just that you have additional requirements to buy them. I may consider your request, but it may have to wait until I get around to redesigning the pages. I was already considering sectioning off properties by affordability and making a whole new recommendation scheme (ROI is still a valid calculation), which would be a combination of the current BULK vs BUY ONE + affordability. That will take a little while to do, but it's a fun challenge to work on. That type of scheme should address your concern, as well as a few other shortcomings of the current setup.

Ugh, you're might need to re-download the sheet and paste your data back in. That happened to me a few times as well. For some reason, Excel lets you paste over certain style info, which then breaks the cell. It's a bug.

You can try copying the green cell below it, then pasting it onto the bugged cell, then see if it repairs itself. That worked once for me.

I don't know if you understand it, but I tried my best. :P

This functionality is already in the sheet. There are option checkboxes at the bottom. If you have it set to "Use Land", many calculations change to reflect owned properties. ROI, however, always takes undeveloped lands requirements and adds it to cost. It's hardcoded into the calculation. The "Use Land" option does not affect it, because it doesn't matter whether you own the prerequisite land or not, it is a part of the price, and required for a proper ROI formula.

Don't forget that as you buy property, their costs change, so ROI changes. The higher the ROI, the faster your return on investment. The math doesn't lie, it's math:

$Income/($CurrentPrice+$LotPrice) % = ReturnOnInvestment% (larger is better)

That's the formula I use. Some like the inverse formula:

($CurrentPrice+$LotPrice)/$Income = Cost/Income Ratio (lower is better)

I may include this formula as an option toggle, since you get the exact same result, but the visual is different.

Note that I am always including the lot price. Only lots don't have lot prices.

Quick update since I haven't been around for a few days.

I am in the process of a fairly major update (v2.1). This new version will contain TWO versions of the sheet within the zip file. One for Excel, one for OpenOffice. The reason for this is because I wanted to add a couple of highly custom formulas to the calculations, but was unable to due to the need for vba style scripting and maintaining compatibility for non-Excel users. I have worked out the issue, but it requires a OpenDocument format version (.ods) for OpenOffice to avoid a major compatibility problem. The good news is that it's not hard for me to maintain.

In other news, I have ALL base requirement for new items (I was only missing a few level requirements in 2.0.11).

There will be a new value for you to all compare e-Penii: Total Wealth

This will accompany two other interesting numbers: Total Assets and Total Investment

Total Wealth is actually just Total Assets + Cash + Bank Funds, very straight forward.
Total Assets is the maximum amount of money you would have if you sold everything in an optimum fashion.
Total Investment is the minimum amount of money it would take to purchase your current assets. Since it's nearly impossible to play the perfect game and spend only in lots of 10, I'd wager everyone spent much more than this figure. :D

I will also be adding a few more enhancements, like:
An improved formula to calculate experience requirements above level 600 (confirmed to need 1,000,000 per level)
The maximum amount you can deposit in your bank account from your cash value, taking into account your bank cap. This figure will allow you upper level rich folks to hit your bank cap EXACTLY.

After 2.1, my next step will be to work on 3.0. This new design will take the lessons I learned in version 2.0, and completely rework everything to be more efficient, a cleaner style, more tabs with new calculators, the works. I'm even toying with color scheme options. I'm also going to revisit the fight calculator and redo it from the ground up. At some point, I'm going to want to resurrect the research into the fight formula (since I doubt the GodFather will tell me how it actually works) and produce a more accurate estimate of fight results. Note that once 3.0 is complete (this will take a while), 2.0 will be archived and unlocked for anyone to explore, just like 1.0 is.

I had one troll in here asking why would anyone spend so much time doing this. The answer for me is easy. I am learning advanced Excel tricks that I can use in my real job; I get to reverse-engineer formulas, find solutions to spreadsheet limitations and use mathematical gymnastics, all of which I find very enjoyable; finally, I get some personal fulfillment by contributing a useful tool to the Mobsters community. I hope you all find it useful.

The Bank Balance and Cash Balance cell seem to break when you paste anything other than a number in them.

If you copy your bank balance with commas and paste into the spreadsheet, the Bank Balance cell becomes locked. Same for the cash balance cell.

I have a question that has been puzzling me for some time. I am not going to put all the math down right here but if you do want it let me know, we can IM about it or something. (I am only extending that offer to the creator of this thread.) It seems to me that when properties are purchased incrementally [by tens] a linear function best describes the decrease of the RoI. (Return on Investment) Because of this, the line can be graphed and certain information missing from the individual RoI calculations becomes prominent. Namely the slope of the line segment. Each of the properties have a decreasing RoI for each set of properties you purchase and this decrease is exponential give that the purchases are made in equivalent increments. The problem that I am having with this approach to investing is that while it does clearly allow you to make the best purchase for you dollar I am not so sure that it is giving you the most volume. Here is my argument. The higher the initial investment on the property, the steeper the slope of the line segment that describes the rate of decrease in the RoI. This means that to continue on the same path is going to require more volume. Other less valuable properties, have a much lower slope to to their function, therefore, it would take much less volume to make the RoI match that of a function with a much steeper slope. With that being said my suggestion is this; With 1.2 billion dollars (This is provided the undeveloped lands are already owned.) You could purchase either 20 casinos, or you could buy 10 Casinos, and based on the RoI make what appears to be the next most beneficial purchases. I would argue that the person who Purchased the 20 Casinos, would much faster be able to purchase his next 10 Casinos than the person who chose to purchase based on RoI. If this is true then a formula that describes the Volume of Income based on the RoI should be discussed. If this can be developed it would mean more income volume faster.

Please tell me if I am wrong here or if I have just missed the boat completely.

Yep, you missed the boat, kind of. :D

Seriously, one glaring error is that you can't buy 20 at a time, so that philosophy is flawed. You must limit your math to purchases in lots of 1 to 10. Math is math, and when the math states that buying a single property will allow you to buy the next in less time than it would take to save up for the two together, then you should buy one, then go for the next using the additional income gained. Otherwise, save up for 10 (or at least more than one). This is NOT the cheapest way to gain property, but the fastest. This is where the confusion comes in. Keep in mind that this technique is only useful if you spend all your money investing in property when you have it, and on a regular schedule. If you only play once a day and earn enough to buy multiple properties in your absence, go ahead and by multiple. I'm pretty sure my tips say this. But, since many players are online 24/7, they can get their income higher much faster by following an investment schedule using ROI and the bulk vs one recommendations.

The only change I can see making to the recommendation is to utilize my new sheet's ability to employ complex formulas not possible with normal Excel functions. Then I could probably fine tune the recommendations logically. It used be impossible to determine with Excel how much it would actually cost to earn the same $100,000,000/cycle income with just Restaurants vs Malls. I'll be able to do this in the near future, and that should have the affect as the Bulk vs One recommendation, where you can find out that you'll earn a higher income faster buying a certain property vs another, even if it's a larger investment to do so. Right now, the simplified ROI formula is fairly accurate, well within an acceptable margin of error.

If you have specific math to show me feel free to send it along. It's obvious that I love math. ;)

Yeah, that's an Excel bug, I can't do anything about it, unfortunately. It's not the commas, but the style information which breaks it. Silly Microsoft. :p

You can test this by copying and pasting the balance info into Notepad first, then copy/paste the numbers with commas from Notepad (which has no style info), and it'll still work fine.

Hi,
There seems to be a problem with the experience calculator. Im level 503 atm. I have 1508201 xp points and i need exactly 7799 xp points to get to next level. Yet the xp calculator says i need 97799. Thats because according to the calculator the 100.000xp/level requirement starts from level 500 while in reality it starts from level 501. You still need 10.000 xp to get to 501.
No big problem, just thought id point it out in case you havent noticed yourself.

Since I'm not that high a level, I have to rely on accurate information from others. Using your values, I can fix the formula, which I have to revamp anyway to include the 600+ level amounts of 1,000,000 exp/level. I'll have it fixed in the new sheet.

If you simply copy/pasted it from mobsters, you'll cause an excel bug that I can't fix (I'm not Microsoft). Try copying the green Cash cell below it, and pasting that value onto the bank cell. If it works, you should be able to type in the value. I hope that helps.

Nice call. You could also double-click the cell (which makes you enter direct entry mode) and paste to avoid the bug, since it will only paste the text.

I have just updated from version 5 to version 11.

I am lvl 19 atm. On the old sheet it said i should buy skyscrapers next, but the new one says vacant lot, downtown malls, helipad or airport. Well the last 3 i can't buy at my lvl, so is there something i've done wrong for it to change from skyscrapers to having to keep buying vacant lots?

If i was to tell the sheet i had 99 malls it would then say i needed the skyscrapers next.

Certainly showed all my Mobsters enthusiast friends.

Well, it goes by the best ROI, and due to limitations of Excel, I can't always make it recommend based on all the possible criteria available (there's A LOT). Thus, I have to use ROI as the basis, and I'll assume you're smart enough to know that higher ROI = good, and to make your own decisions, using the sheet's recommendations as a simple guideline.

I'm trying to make up some fancy tricks to force it to do what I want, but it's a lot to juggle, and it's not ready. It would be easier if I could just say, "only Excel 2007 supported", but that wouldn't be fair to the OpenOffice crowd. It'll improve over time, but for now, just remember that higher ROI is better. The Bulk vs Buy One recommendation is still accurate.

When calculating fights with my defensive character that has over 1000 defense skill with characters that have tank / police escorts my total fight should be 55% winning with the worst scenario possible, yet I am losing fights to these characters which leads me to believe something is off on the calculations.

Rename it to .zip from .efw. It's your antivirus program which is renaming it. I posted a fix for this earlier in the thread.

I take it you know their attack and defense skill stats, because otherwise, your calculations may be missing this key information.

Besides, I've always stated it's not perfect because there's a random modifier to the attack formula which seems to favor the attacker. The fight calculator is an attempt to give you an idea how you can win or lose odd fights. Nobody knows the actual fight formula, we only know the effect of skill points is multiplied by your active mob size in terms of effectiveness.

Some are speculating that there's a dice roll for each active mob member, and the maximum fight points are determined in this manner. Until I see real fight data from a controlled set of scenarios, I can't analyze it. This was attempted long ago, but abandoned, unfortunately. I don't have time for that kind of research, so I have to rely on other's findings.

I will post the most recent data that happened. I am a 484 with 1096 defense 2970 health, 4 hired guns, 404 miniguns, 100 sarin gas, 504 ballistic armor, 502 apc, 1 rolls, 1 mack truck. Was attacked on the fightlist and lost 3 times with no wins against a lvl 340 with 161 hired guns that defends with below equipment.

38 M113 APC, 29 Mack Titan, 39 Armored Rolls Royce, 38 Bomb Disposal Suit, 370 Humvee, 223 Hughes 500 Helicopter, 661 Trans-Kevlar Armed Suit, 31 M4, 28 ArmaLite AR-50 Sniper Rifle, 640 Guided Missile Launcher.

From damage done the 340 appears to have around 3000 health. With all the points leftover assigned to attack I should win most fights from the spreadsheet but dont. This is one of many examples I have found. Unless the random isnt that random I shouldnt lose as much as I have been.

You're still missing the most important part though - skill point distribution. It's not a "controlled scenario" if you don't know all attributes of the 2 opponents in the fight.

Version 2.1 is now available for download!

This version has many changes, so visit the first post of this thread to learn more about this update. Click the link in my signature to visit the first post.

Starting with this version, I can only use direct download links (the zip is nearly 200k, too big to attach here), so forum registration won't be necessary. Of course, you can download it from the version number in my signature, like always. This is due to having two versions of the sheet, one for Excel 2003+ and one for OpenOffice Calc 3.x.
